With Next Decade, NFTs have found their Instagram

“We want it to be an icebreaker,” says Nicolas Petit, one of the co-founders of the virtual gallery application, with conviction. Next Decade. After a first experience in the creation of NFTs, whose collections respond to the sweet name of Buns. landthe trio at the head of Next Decade, found themselves faced with a question: how to share their collection of NFTs with loved ones or simple strangers?

A showcase at the same time as a gateway to the metaverse

Accessible free of charge upon registration, this platform offers its users a small 3D universe in the form of a pyramid, each block of which represents a gateway to a user’s profile. Liking, commenting, or following the activity of members is part of the experience which is significantly similar to what Instagram offers, of which “we have taken up certain codes”, he admits.

In form, however, Next Decade tends rather to approach the metaverse. “But not like The Sandbox, which is almost a video game,” says Nicolas Petit. The metaverse for me is above all a place of digital interactions between humans, then we put the form we want there. “An ecosystem on which the trio continues to work, in partnership with big names in luxury, with the aim of ultimately achieving “very pretty 3D immersive experiences”.

Launched last June, the platform already hosts more than 100,000 NFTs, including works purchased directly on Next Decade. If for the moment the majority of existing NFTs have an artistic vocation, Nicolas Petit is convinced: “In 10 years we will have NFTs of many things, such as a car title deed with a blockchain system. A pleasing prospect for Next Decade, whose initial vocation is to “bring together all NFTs in a single and easily accessible place”.
