Wissam Ben Yedder sentenced by Spanish courts for tax evasion

Will AS Monaco striker Wissam Ben Yedder spend six months in prison in Spain? According to the Spanish daily, Wissam Ben Yedder allegedly falsified his tax returns during his three seasons at Sevilla FC, from 2016 to 2019.

The former Toulousain was also sentenced to a fine of 133,800 euros for this tax evasion, when he allegedly did not submit his tax returns “in due time” during his three years in Andalusia. The court concluded on Tuesday that the Monegasque had “consciously falsified” his declarations, by “not including the interest received as income” on three accounts belonging to him.

But as the sentence provides “the suspension of the prison sentence for a period of two years, provided that the defendant does not reoffend during the period of suspension”, Wissam Ben Yedder should escape the prison sentence, four years later the opening of the procedure.
