Winemaker Dorli Muhr: “Nobody waits for a new wine” – economy

from

Dorli Muhr’s dream can be expressed in numbers: it measures exactly eleven hectares and is located on the Spitzerberg, a good 60 kilometers east of Vienna. Strictly speaking, it is actually not a real mountain, but rather a hill with a broad crest. In the eyes of the winemaker, however, it holds a treasure: vines that nestle against the gently sloping slope, some of them 50 years old and older. Vineyards that have been cultivated for many generations, mostly by families from the area. A good hundred years ago, the mountain was considered to be one of the best vineyards in Austria, until it was forgotten for a long time.
