Windows 11 2022 Update brings Explorer tabs and more features

As of today, the first major update for Windows 11 is available, which is simply called “Windows 11 2022 Update” in the official blog entry. This brings numerous new features to improve productivity and the overall user experience.

Shortly before the one-year anniversary of Windows 11, Microsoft is distributing the first major update for its latest operating system. Instead of the version number 22H2, where 22 stands for the year and H2 for the second half of the year, Microsoft uses im blog post for the release simply the name “Update 2022”. the Updating is optional and can be downloaded from the “Windows Update” menu item in the settings.

The update is expected to bring numerous new features to improve the overall user experience, including a revised start menu, which also includes a faster and more precise search function. A much-requested feature is finally arriving in October: Tabs in File Explorer. In the future, files and folders should be able to be managed in a similar way to what is known from common web browsers. New accessibility features there is also, for the time being, however, only English-speaking users should have access to system-wide live subtitles and full voice control.

To the Improving Productivity Microsoft is optimizing the snap layouts used to organize multiple windows on the screen.
