“The Voice Kids” starts in the anniversary season. Coach Wincent Weiss “definitely wants to fight for victory,” he reveals in an interview.

From March 4th, Sat.1 is looking for Germany’s most talented children’s voice for the tenth time. “The Voice Kids” is back with an anniversary season and five prominent coaches. This time, Michi Beck (54) and Smudo (53) from the Fantastischen Vier, Alvaro Soler (31), Lena Meyer-Landrut (30) and Wincent Weiss (29) will sit on the red swivel chairs. The latter is optimistic in an interview with the news agency spot on news: “This time the cards will be reshuffled, but I will definitely fight for victory.”

Weiss was already on the jury of the popular music show last season. He likes working with the kids. In the past, he even thought of becoming a kindergarten teacher. However, he would not have dared to take part in a show like this at the time. “I was very shy and started music much too late. But I probably wouldn’t have had the courage either,” he admits. Weiss wishes that the young candidates “just stay themselves, see the whole thing as fun and don’t take it too seriously. ‘The Voice Kids’ is like a class trip and that’s how they should see it and enjoy it “.

He is “a little afraid” of Lena Meyer-Landrut

Weiss thinks it’s “great” that Lena Meyer-Landrut will be there again this year. However, he was also “a little scared”: “No, seriously, I’m very happy, I know her a little privately and I think she’s my toughest competitor.” The reason: “Because children love them.” However, he also keeps an eye on the other coaches. “You can’t forget the others either. Alvaro got some talents last year that I would have liked to have had too.”

In order to be able to convince the young talents, Weiss has “thought a few things”. “Maybe I’ll sing something or do a handstand like last time,” laughs the singer.
