The German Davis Cup doubles Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz reached the semi-finals in Wimbledon. The tennis duo won 6-4, 6-3 in London against Brit Jamie Murray and New Zealander Michael Venus.

The German Davis Cup double Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz has in Wimbledon reached the semi-finals. The tennis duo won 6-4, 6-3 in London against Brit Jamie Murray and New Zealander Michael Venus.

Krawietz and Pütz have been on the tour together since the beginning of the year. At the French Open, the doubles had last reached the quarterfinals, now they are in the semifinals together for the first time in a Grand Slam tournament.

The German doubles showed a strong performance against Murray and Venus. After a balanced course, Krawietz and Pütz managed to win the set with the first break. The Davis Cup double took the momentum and managed another break in the second round. After 80 minutes, Krawietz and Pütz converted their third match point.

Laura Siegemund missed the semifinals. The 35-year-old from Metzingen lost together with her Russian doubles partner Vera Swonarewa against Marie Bouzkova from the Czech Republic and Sara Sorribes Tormo from Spain 6:7 (2:7), 5:7. Siegemund and Swonarewa have been playing together for several years and won the US Open together in 2020.
