Musician Willi Resetarits, who also made a name for himself as “Ostbahn-Kurti”, died in an accident at the age of 73.

The Austrian musician and human rights activist Willi Resetarits is dead. He died according to a “Krone” report according to Sunday in Vienna at the age of 73 from the consequences of an unspecified accident. The star’s family, who was also known as his fictional character “Ostbahn-Kurti”, confirmed this to the newspaper. Resetarits was known for reinterpreting famous international songs in Austrian dialect.

On Twitter, Austria’s Chancellor Karl Nehammer (49) honors Resetarits with the words: “The death of Willi Resetarits really shakes me. His fight for a good cause

Resetarits opened the Vienna Refugee Ball last Saturday. Away from music, he put his heart and soul into various human rights organizations. He founded the Integrationshaus Wien and was a co-founder of Asyl in Not and SOS Mitmensch.
