Will the heat last until the end of the week?

Gray weather, rain, fresh wind… If June usually rhymes with barbecues and drinks on the terrace, this year the rays of sunshine were frankly discreet. But since Monday, temperatures have been rising and it almost feels like summer. Temporary or lasting trend? Should we break out the swimsuits for the end of the week? 20 minutes answers you.

This Wednesday, the sun and the temperature are good, except in Belfort where there is a risk of storms. The intense heat extends even further north, into the interior of Brittany, Normandy and Nord-Pas-de-Calais, and could reach 33°C in the West.

Thursday will be the hottest day of the week across France, before a gradual drop in temperatures this weekend. Tomorrow afternoon, we expect up to 33-34°C in the plains of Occitanie, in the lower Rhône valley, and locally between Burgundy and Champagne. Be careful, thunderstorms could occur in the South-West during the day.

To enjoy cloudless sunshine, head to the South-East where the sun in Perpignan, Nice and the Isle of Beauty promises temperatures around 28 degrees on Saturday. Unfortunately, this will no longer be the case on Sunday, which is likely to be overcast or even rainy in almost all of France. For next week, temperatures will cool down again. Rainfall should be light. The Mediterranean regions will have more sunshine, often accompanied by a westerly wind.
