Will Sadio Mané miss the 2022 World Cup injured? FC Bayern Munich is vague

According to “L’Equipe” and “Sport1”, Mané not only injured his fibula head, but also suffered a tendon injury that should result in a break of several weeks. An assignment for Senegal at the World Cup in Qatar, which starts on November 20th, is therefore no longer possible.

According to “Bild” information, the tendon of the fibula head is said to have torn.

The injury was preceded by a collision with Werder defender Amos Pieper. Mané was substituted (21′). According to coach Julian Nagelsmann, Mané then went straight to the first examinations.

“He was hit on the head of the shin. It’s an uncomfortable place. It needs to be x-rayed to clarify it,” the Bayern coach said that evening.

Senegal in World Cup Group A with the Netherlands

Mané is not only a support for Bayern, but also Senegal’s most important international.

The African champions meet the hosts, the Netherlands and Ecuador, in Group A at the World Cup in Qatar (November 20 to December 18). Before that, Bayern will play against Schalke 04 on Saturday.
