The actor has been married to Janet Holden since 1997. Now she has filed for divorce. The reason: “irreconcilable differences”.

“Will & Grace” star Eric McCormack’s long-term marriage is about to end. Janet Holden, the 60-year-old actor’s wife, has filed for divorce in Los Angeles, People magazine reported on Sunday.

The couple married in 1997 and have an adult son. Holden cited “irreconcilable differences,” court documents said.

The Canadian-American actor met his wife in 1994 on the set of the TV series “Lonesome Dove”, where Holden worked as an assistant director.

McCormack is best known for the hit series “Will & Grace.” In it he played the gay lawyer Will Truman, best friend of the interior designer Grace Adler (Debra Messing). The award-winning series ran in the USA from 1998 to 2006 and from 2017 to 2020. The role earned McCormack an Emmy (2001) for best comedy actor. In 2018 he was honored with a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame.
