Wilfrid Hounkpatin prosecuted for domestic violence and dismissed by Castres

French international pillar Wilfrid Hounkpatin was placed under judicial supervision on Wednesday for acts of domestic violence, the Castres prosecutor’s office told AFP, confirming information from La Dépêche du Midi. Aged 32, the player from Castres Olympique, in the Top 14, was placed in police custody on Tuesday after the filing of a complaint by his partner for acts committed the day before, said the vice-prosecutor of the Republic of permanence.

Hounkpatin was then presented to the prosecution, who referred him to the Castres Criminal Court on April 3. His judicial control prohibits him in particular from entering into contact with his partner as well as from going to her home.

Prohibition to come to the club

“The Castres Olympique has taken note of the legal procedure carried out […] against Wilfrid Hounkpatin. The latter is being prosecuted for acts of domestic violence,” his club reacted in a press release sent to AFP. “Such actions would be in total contradiction with the values advocated by our club. Immediately, Castres Olympique has decided to initiate disciplinary proceedings […] accompanied by a layoff with a ban on entering his workplace. »
