As a child, Georg Schober played here in the meadows, surrounded by the green hills of the Salzburg region, with the Alps in the far distance. His parents had a farm, he grew up here near Straßwalchen. Today, the engineer with the short gray hair guards a treasure: he is the manager of the Haidach gas storage facility, the second largest in Europe. The entire site is surrounded by a high fence, in the middle pipes and factory buildings rise up into the blue sky. Everything is neatly tidied up, the grass is perfectly trimmed, there is a pond next to the small administration building.
