Black day, this Friday, for the people of Montpellier who do not make the bridge. Due to a strike launched by the FO union at Tam, which manages the transport network, no tram or bus circulates in Montpellier intramural (Hérault).
The union ensures that “working conditions (…) have deteriorated significantly, partly caused by the health crisis, but also following a sharp reduction in the number of commercial services, travel times not adapted to the new speed limits, increasingly dense vehicle traffic in the metropolis ”. FO also points to “an explosion of incivility” and “an exponential workload for mobility advisers following the introduction of free transport. “
An agreement signed on Tuesday
La Tam regrets this movement, indicating that an agreement had been signed with the unions on Tuesday. “These salary negotiations ended with an increase in the value of the point to the tune of 1.37% and the payment of an additional bonus (…) FO nevertheless decided to maintain its strike notice”, deplores the Tam.
The Tam also indicates that “the current level of service is equivalent to that applied in 2019, upstream of the health crisis, despite the drop in attendance” and that work on incivility is being carried out, with actions ” with the police to secure the network ”. The creation of a transport brigade was also announced.
