Because the laboratories no longer have capacity, a PCR test should only be possible in exceptional cases if a corona infection is suspected. Is this a good idea? And why can other countries offer more of it?

PCR tests are gold, rapid tests are at most slightly tarnishing silver – everyone who has come into contact with cotton swabs in their nose and throat in the past few months knows that by now. Because the extremely sensitive PCR tests are considerably more reliable than rapid tests for detecting a corona infection. It is therefore all the more astonishing that there should now be a new PCR test strategy. Accordingly, PCR tests should no longer be possible for all people who have only had contact with infected people or who have received a message from the Corona warning app.
