Why did environmental activists join the fight?

She began to act barely seven years ago and is already a reference figure in the matter. As the country prepares for another day of strikes on Tuesday and the movement seems to be hardening against pension reform, the young environmental activist Lena Lazare recalls that social justice and ecology are undeniably linked. “We know very well that during these social movements, forms of solidarity are created,” she assures us facing the camera of 20 minutes. Like her, many environmental activists have joined the fight against a bill that they consider liberticidal.

“I think we can win this fight”

Engaged since 2016 in the fight against climate change, Léna Lazare, 24, is now mobilized alongside the demonstrators for the maintenance of a social achievement that she considers essential. “I am quite revolted by what is happening now, and by all that the French are forced to undergo in the world of work. We should be fighting to work less! “, she asserts.

With around twenty mobilizations to her credit, particularly for the climate, the young activist does not budge: “I think we can win this fight, but I also hope that the links we have and will forge in this battle will allow us to organize ourselves, in the future, collectively to meet our needs. And thus succeed in freeing oneself from a system which is at the origin of the ecological devastation and the increase in social inequalities. »
