Banning the party will not save our democracy. In order to prevent visions like Björn Höcke’s, something else is important.
When he was elected as the top candidate for the Thuringian state elections next fall, the local AfD chairman Björn Höcke made it unmistakably clear last weekend what he planned to do with this country. They will first “hunt the establishment”, then become the strongest force and finally “ask the question of power” – in other words: “stop the fight against the right”.
