Why are we afraid of death? Interview with the ethicist Rupert Scheule – Bavaria

Rupert Scheule founded the first study course on death at the University of Regensburg. Since the winter semester of 2021, master’s students have been able to research dying in the subject “Perimortal Sciences”. In an interview, the 54-year-old moral theologian, who also works as a Catholic deacon where he lives in Krumbach, explains what worries him about dying, where the fear of it comes from and whether artificial intelligence will make us immortal.
