Why are the tram lines completely shut down for more than three weeks?

Users Toulouse accustomed to taking the tram for their trips will have to find an alternative. From this Monday and until August 16, the two lines T1 and T2 are at a total stop. This interruption is part of the creation of a partial terminus at Odyssud which will, in the long term, make it possible to increase the frequency of passage of the tram to Blagnac and the airport zone, i.e. one train every 4’30 per hour. rush hour instead of 9 minutes at present.

The work started during the winter “consists of renovating the tracks, creating a third track dedicated to the partial terminus and creating a technical room necessary for operation”, indicates Tisséo. The public transport organizing authority is taking advantage of the summer period, when traffic is less important, to carry out the bulk of the work.

Works which are more broadly part of the creation of the Airport Express Line, which will make it possible to reach the future Blagnac – Jean-Maga metro station at the airport in 7 minutes and which will run on the rails of the line of the T2 tram.

Partial interruption of the T1 tram until August 26

In the meantime, users will be able to take the T1′ and T2′ shuttle buses until August 16, which operate from 5 a.m. to midnight on weekdays and until 12:30 a.m. on weekends.

If from August 17, the T2 line resumes service in its entirety, the interruption will continue for ten more days, until August 26, on the T1 line between Ancely and the MEET Exhibition Center, replaced by a shuttle bus.
