Günther Jauch had in “Who wants to be a millionaire?” a guest bodyguard who was even responsible for Whitney Houston. What the Hollywood insider said on the council chair.

The 1992 film “Bodyguard” is considered one of the highlights of Whitney Houston’s career: the accompanying album was awarded a Grammy, and two of the songs from it were even nominated for an Oscar. In the strip she plays a singer who falls in love with her bodyguard. On Monday evening, one of her real bodyguards was seen on German TV – as a candidate for “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?”.

Peter Gaschko is a trained bodyguard and surprised moderator Günther Jauch with this information: He was allowed to accompany the singer, who has since died, on a European tour in the 2000s, was her chauffeur and was also responsible for her safety. Jauch squeezed the father of two about his former Hollywood job. “Will she talk to you then?” he wanted to know. Gaschko said that it was actually forbidden to even look at the singer, let alone speak to her.

Whitney Houston’s bodyguard gambled at 64,000 euros

But Houston doesn’t seem to have cared, she did chat. Peter Gaschko also got to know her husband at the time, Bobby Brown, and talked shop with him about guns when he sat in the front passenger seat. “She then said from behind that she doesn’t want all of that in the house. The stuff has to go,” recalled the “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” candidate.

In the quiz, the topic of safety was less in the foreground – on the contrary. Peter Gaschko gambled several times, logged in answers without securing them with a joker. That went well twice, then he failed because of the 64,000 euro question. “What happens to the wolf at the end of Sergei Prokofiev’s ‘Peter and the Wolf’?” was this. The following answers were available: A: ends up in the zoo, B: is shot by the hunter, C: disappears into the forest or D: drowns in the well.

Peter Gaschko grabbed the telephone joker, the acquaintance typed on B, but wasn’t sure. The candidate took the risk, logged in anyway – and lost. Answer A would have been correct: The wolf ends up in the zoo. After all: As a former security officer, Gasckko had opted for the security variant and fell back to 16,000 euros. Among other things, he wants to use the money to train as a dog trainer.
