Julian Jost wanted to found a company as a student. Because he appreciates the freedom of self-employment and has a “passion for founding a company,” he says. In 2015 he started the software company Spacebase, and since then companies have been able to book conference rooms via his platform. He already knew what it means to set up a company, because his parents had a company that mainly manufactured briefcases and school bags. However, the 33-year-old never wanted to continue the family business. “Bags are not my thing. I don’t have the passion for the product that I would sell,” says Jost. He wanted to do something of his own.
