Copenhagen – The World Health Organization (WHO) regional office for Europe is sounding the alarm: between January and October 2023, 30 times as many measles cases were registered in the region as in the entire previous year. During this period, more than 30,000 cases were reported in 40 of the 54 member states of the region that extends to Central Asia – up from 941 cases in all of 2022, the WHO office said on Tuesday.
