According to the RKI, the number of corona deaths is increasing
The trends are constant: while the Robert Koch Institute says the seven-day incidence is falling, the number of deaths has increased significantly in a weekly comparison. Almost 6.5 million people in Germany were already infected with the corona virus.
The nationwide seven-day incidence fell again compared to the previous day. The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) gave the value of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants and week at 402.9. For comparison: the previous day the value was 413.7. A week ago the nationwide incidence was 442.7 (previous month: 249.1).
The health authorities in Germany reported 53,697 new corona infections to the RKI within one day. Exactly one week ago there were 64,510 infections. When evaluating the infection rate, it should be borne in mind that experts are currently assuming a noticeable underreporting. Health authorities and clinics can no longer keep up with reporting cases, at least in individual regions.
According to the new information, 510 deaths were recorded across Germany within 24 hours. A week ago there were 465 deaths. The RKI has counted 6,477,217 detected infections with Sars-CoV-2 since the beginning of the pandemic. The actual total number is likely to be significantly higher, as many infections are not recognized.
The number of corona patients admitted to clinics per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days was given by the RKI on Friday as 5.71 (Thursday 5.75). From a value of three, the 2G rule applies nationwide to events in a federal state – that is, only those vaccinated against the coronavirus and those recovered from Covid-19 are allowed. The RKI stated the number of those who had recovered at 5,368,300. The number of people who died with or with a proven infection with Sars-CoV-2 rose to 105,506.
Note: The RKI figures usually differ slightly from the case data that ntv.de reports daily in the evening. The ntv.de data team has direct access to the registration figures from the federal states, as published by the local ministries and authorities. The RKI, on the other hand, is bound to the legally prescribed reporting channels, which can lead to a delay.
In addition, the respective daily values map different recording periods: the ntv evaluation collects the country information published by the evening and uses this to calculate a daily status of the reported number of cases, which is usually published from 8 p.m. The RKI’s recording system, on the other hand, takes into account incoming reports up to midnight, with the current data status being announced the following morning.
