Where the Tölzer Boys’ Choir rehearses. – Munich

Girls can also sing along with the Tölzer Boys’ Choir – at least on Saturday, September 23rd, when the famous singing institution opens all the doors at its media location in Unterföhring. So far, the Tölzern’s female moment has only existed briefly in early musical education, and otherwise of course primarily in the person of managing director Barbara Schmidt-Gaden. The daughter of choir founder Gerhard Schmidt-Gaden sang with the boys as a child, even prominently as one of the three boys in the “Magic Flute”.

The open day offers rare insights into solo, group and choir lessons and participatory activities such as a pop-up choir. The Unterföhring music school is also involved and offers the opportunity to try out instruments. There will be concerts and you can also talk to Stellario Fagone. He has been the choir’s artistic director since June and most recently served as acting choir director and director of the children’s choir at the Bavarian State Opera.

Open day at the Tölzer Knabenchor, Saturday, September 23rd, 2-6 p.m., ZDF-Straße 1 (House 3), Unterföhring, information at www.toelzerknabenchor.de
