FUELS – Two euros per liter. The symbolic barrier has been crossed for several weeks at many service stations in France and the government has abandoned the idea of ​​selling at a loss to bring them down. The possible reduction is therefore in the hands of the sector (refiners, distributors and professional federations) whose players are encouraged to sell at cost price.

Several of them have decided to do so for the start of autumn (some every day, others on weekends) without knowing the real impact on prices at the pump.

For now, therefore, prices remain at a level not seen for more than a year for gasoline if we note the averages delivered each week by the Ministry of Ecology. As you can see in the graph belowdiesel prices are also very close to the records of early 2023.

While waiting to see the price at the pump drop (to still unknown proportions), motorists have no other choice but to engage in competition between service stations near them. You still need to have a choice, which is not always the case depending on the areas where you live.
