When personalities risk their credibility in the game of M6

In the M6 group, the presenters and columnists are not just presenters, they are also experts in their field. And it is on these subjects that they pass on the grill in “Who can beat us?” “, the third issue of which is broadcast this Friday at 9:10 p.m. on the sixth channel. After, among other examples, Cristina Cordula, previously questioned on fashion, or Philippe Etchebest, on cooking, it is the turn of Eric Antoine, Stéphane Plaza or Hélène Ségara to play against a hundred candidates. Is it really easy to convince personalities to participate in this game? Are they afraid of getting a poor result and losing credibility?

“All are really delighted to be there and they all played the game”, assures 20 minutes Kamila Fievet-Palies, director of programs at the production company Studio 89. “Yes, the fear of making a fool of themselves could be present at the start for many,” she admits, “but they are confident of their expertise in their field. . It is also our job to reassure them, to explain to them that to err is human and that everyone is sometimes wrong”.

Revisions before participating in the game

Some guest experts on this Friday’s show play a little bigger in terms of images, like Stéphane Plaza, asked about real estate. “We make no difference between the guests” assures Kamila Fievet-Palies. “Obviously the risk-taking is stronger for Stéphane Plaza compared to Elodie Gossuin who will be questioned on the subject of the media. But the difference is minimal, because Elodie doesn’t want to look ridiculous either, so she will also be under pressure like the others. She also revised a lot before the shooting. »

Some personalities are questioned about their passion and not their profession, such as the member of the “Big Heads” Paul El Kharrat, whose theme will be history. “We can absolutely open the next castings with celebrities from the field of comedy or music who have a strong passion”, suggests the representative of Studio 89.

Prime time, the new eldorado of TV games

The concept of the M6 program may have inspired TF1, which will launch in prime time in the coming months “The Wheel”, the adaptation of a British general knowledge game hosted by Arthur. Various celebrities will have a favorite theme there. “The mechanics are completely different,” says Kamila Fievet-Palies. “Even though they have interesting personalities, nothing’s going to stop us from having them in ‘Who Can Beat Us?’ later, and vice versa.

“Who can beat us? » had good results for its first two issues on M6 with 25% of audience on the commercial target. “We have already sold the format in three different countries,” announces Kamila Fievet-Palies. “It gives ideas to continue to dare to create game shows, including for prime time”. More “Who Can Beat Us?” are planned, with several new personalities we are assured.
