The WhatsApp messenger service regularly provides its users with new updates. Users have recently been able to create two WhatsApp accounts on one cell phone, which was previously only possible via “Whatsapp Business”. Now the meta company is planning another function that should ensure more privacy.
Update date still unclear
According to the portal “WABetaInfo” Whatsapp is currently working on the “Alternative Profile” function, where users can upload a second profile picture. In the future, you should be able to use the “My Contacts” option to specify which name and display photo should be displayed to individual contacts.
This could be useful, for example, if Whatsapp users have saved both professional and private contacts on their smartphone. However, it is still unclear when exactly the corresponding update will come. Until now, users could only use the settings to specify whether “Everyone”, “My Contacts”, “My Contacts Except…” or “Nobody” could see their own profile picture.
