Announces on his Twitter account Whatsapp not only advertises new features, but also advertises lesser-known ones. Messenger currently advises you to activate encryption for cloud backups of your chats.
What’s it all about? Well, WhatsApp chats are encrypted on the messenger’s servers, but the backup in the iCloud or on Google Drive does not have such encryption ex works, so that hackers could theoretically get to your chats.
