Whatsapp is in for a splash: The new update hides three new functions that were previously not available. And they are extremely helpful.

Whatsapp: New functions in November 2021 – Stickers and image editing for the web
Whatsapp has quietly equipped the latest version of the app with three new functions in the past few weeks. Many an attentive user will already have noticed them. For those of you who haven’t noticed yet, the company has now announced the changes in large format on Twitter.
The biggest change is probably the so-called “Web Media Editor”, which allows users to crop and rotate images via Whatsapp Web and to add colored text or stickers. This function was previously withheld from the mobile app.

Another change concerns the link preview in the chat window: Links that are shared with friends or work colleagues are now displayed differently. The preview images for the website are much larger than before. This has the advantage that you can see much better in advance what you are clicking on and what is to be expected in terms of content. A possible disadvantage of the new function: The image takes up so much space that other messages are quickly lost (more digital news* read on RUHR24).
As a third and final change, Whatsapp is now introducing sticker suggestions: Based on the message that you enter in the text field below, the messenger automatically selects suitable stickers without you having to select them separately. “It’s like the emoji suggestions, only better,” Whatsapp writes on Twitter.
Users can look forward to several new functions on Whatsapp.

Whatsapp: Messenger app keeps introducing new functions
In addition, the messenger points out that all messages are always protected by end-to-end encryption. The protection of privacy was taken into account in the development of the three new functions.
It is well known that Whatsapp is always serving up new changes to its users. Only recently it emerged that messages within the messenger can soon delete themselves. However, users are free to choose whether they want to use the function or not. It can be selected in the chat and for each person individually.
Advertising on Whatsapp? Controversial function so far not implemented for app or web
Probably the most controversial function that Whatsapp has announced to its users has not yet been implemented: advertising. It was actually supposed to go live in 2020, but the project has been delayed. The company has not yet announced a new date.
