What happened ?
Tuesday, around 5 p.m., several shots were heard on Avenue des Sources, in Ecully. The neighborhood was quickly cordoned off with the intervention of the police. The Sources municipal crèche, which is located near the scene, was confined for an hour. Children were still inside.
The Lyon prosecutor’s office reported, “in a provisional assessment”, of a person who died by “one or more shots”, at the foot of a residential building in the Avenue des Sources district. The victim is a 32-year-old man from Kosovo who moved to Les Sources when he was ten years old.
According to information from Progressthree to four individuals are said to have fled in a “small model” car, and are still being actively sought.
An open investigation
The prosecution immediately opened an investigation for “murder in an organized gang following the shootings that caused the death” of the thirties. It was entrusted to the zonal direction of the judicial police in order to determine “the motive and the exact circumstances of the commission of these acts”.
According to police sources interviewed by the local media, it could be a “probable settlement of accounts”, the facts having taken place “on a point of deal” or a “private dispute”.
