New bad buzz for the show Do not touch My TV (TPMP). This Thursday, Cyril Hanouna’s show has once again exceeded the limits of the acceptable, which is more at prime time. The guest was Gérard Fauré, a former drug trafficker who presents himself as “the former dealer of Tout-Paris”. Without any contradiction, the man was able to update an old conspiracy theory: adrenochrome. A disastrous sequence that raises several questions.
- Who is Gerard Fauré?
Former cocaine trafficker, not only in France but internationally, Gérard Fauré became an author after serving a sentence at Fleury-Mérogis. On the set of TPMP, this Thursday, Gérard Fauré wanted once again to attack the French elite and denounce their actions. Many stars would use, according to him, adrenochrome which would come from “blood of sacrificed children”. “A lot of stars would use the sacrifices of children to drink their blood before having eternal youth”, continues with impunity the columnist Myriam Palomba. Celine Dion, for example, is cited among the culprits.
Adrenochrome does exist and is derived from adrenaline. Except it’s not a drug, but a synthetically manufactured compound that’s perfectly legal. But for several years, several theories have pointed to this substance as responsible for many child abuses. They would be used in obscure laboratories to draw their blood and then sold to the elites. The substance would serve as a psychotropic and would be rejuvenating.
- Where does this theory come from?
In reality, these theories have their source in the novel las vegas paranoid by Hunter S. Thompson in 1972, adapted to the cinema in 1998 by Terry Gilliam. In Thompson’s book, a journalist and his lawyer travel to Las Vegas with their trunk full of drugs. They find adrenochrome in the hands of a Satanist who allegedly molested children before.
In Terry Gilliam’s film, the character played by Johnny Depp even says: “Besides that, even the purest mescaline, you take it for lemonade”. The director will admit in comments that this substance is largely exaggerated for the needs of the scenario.
- What is the risk of issuing Do not touch My TV ?
Already under the radar of the Minister of Culture Rima Abdul-Malak, Cyril Hanouna’s program is once again in danger with the sequence broadcast yesterday. This Friday, the lawyer Laurent Segnis seized the Arcom (Audiovisual and digital communication regulatory authority) in the face of this sequence. “So at prime time, tonight, on C8, we let a guy rant about the worst insanity, the worst conspiracy theories, we throw names into the food with a culpable complacency of the chain”, tweeted the lawyer.
On the production side of the show, a backpedal also seemed essential. “Following the sequence with Gérard Fauré during the broadcast Do not touch My TV this evening, we remind you that his statements are his own. We condemn the comments made by our guest on the air, ”tweeted the show an hour after the end of the broadcast. However, the program is responsible for the remarks made on its antenna and cannot neglect the absence of contradictory during this sequence.
