The small town of Brumadinho is located forty kilometers from the Brazilian metropolis of Belo Horizonte; from there to Munich it is almost ten thousand kilometers as the crow flies. It’s very far away, but lately it’s very close. In Munich, the biggest industrial accident in the history of Brazil is being negotiated – it’s about compensation, it’s about pain and suffering, it’s about suffering and despair, it’s about civil liability and criminal liability after a dam burst disaster.
