The plenary assembly, which was held behind closed doors, ended around 10 a.m. with an address by Mr.gr Moulins-Beaufort, president of the conference of bishops of France. The latter began his closing speech with a photo of a sculpture in his hand representing the head of a crying child.
This child was crying alone, hidden under the vaults of a cathedral face. Someone photographed him, someone who recognized himself in him, someone who, too, was a victim and cried so petrified in a church, because of a clergyman, to cause of the Church.
This face lives in my heartur while I’m talking to you. It is for this crying child, little boy, little girl, adolescent or adolescent, that we have reflected, worked, decided. (…) It is too late, we said on Saturday, to console this child. It is not (too late) to remember him.
Saturday, in Lourdes, bishops, priests, leaders of religious orders and some faithful had honored the memory of victims of pedocriminality by meditating in front of a photo and by organizing a prayer of repentance at the sanctuary.
Sealed to the wall of the hemicycle in which the episcopate meets, it prefigures the construction of a “Place of memory”, decided in March by the bishops but the terms of which have not yet been defined. The photo was taken by a victim and text on “The violence suffered” and the ” pain “ of this child.
