At first, the message sounds uncomfortably familiar. A new virus has made 35 people sick with fever and flu-like symptoms in eastern China. Not much more is known about this pathogen at first. In fact, the current find differs significantly from the appearance of Sars-CoV-2. Cases reported last week in the journal New England Journal of Medicine reported do not represent an explosive eruption. Rather, they were discovered during a prolonged, active investigation.
