What does the first solidarity gourmet restaurant in France look like?

A restaurant where everyone eats the same dishes… but without paying the same bill, sometimes very salty for the most modest. This Tuesday opens rue de la République, near the Old Port of Marseille, a one-of-a-kind restaurant. Le République is in fact the first solidarity-based gastronomic restaurant in France.

The principle is simple: people in need will only pay one euro for their meal, while those with no financial problems will pay the usual price. On the plate, local products worked in a refined way, and a service that makes no distinction according to social class.
