If you do not know his name, surely you must know his works. After an eight-day stay in a stone or having stayed for thirteen days inside a stuffed bear, Abraham Poincheval will reveal his new work of art in the courtyard of the college Gisèle-Halimi in Aubervilliers. The artist is welcomed by the 3rd C class as part of the “1% artistic” device set up by the department of Seine-Saint-Denis to develop art in colleges “, indicates the community.

The project Narcissus and the selfie: The gaze of others and the gaze on oneself, started on Tuesday. The author has locked himself in his work, a structure entirely in one-way glass. The college students were able to follow his daily life thanks to a camera installed at the CDI. The selfies they take with the work are sent to Abraham Poincheval who can classify them. Stéphane Troussel, president of the Seine-Saint-Denis department, is delighted “with the awareness of students of contemporary art” through this “formidable work”. And all the more so “in an exceptional health context which cruelly limited their interactions with the cultural sector”.

Just like, they were invited to the ceremony of entry of the artist in the sculpture, Tuesday, all the students of the college will be able to attend his exit, this Friday at 3 pm. “This sculpture will become, at the end of the performance, a lasting work of art”, announces the department.
