What are the steps that should lead to the trial of Cédric Jubillar?

New audience, same actors. The investigating chamber of the Toulouse Court of Appeal is considering this Thursday both the results of the new investigations that it requested in the context of the disappearance of Delphine Jubillar and then the referral to the Tarn assizes of her husband to be tried for “murder of a spouse”.

The additional information ordered on February 8 aimed to shed light on the comments made, during a telephone conversation with his mother, by a former fellow inmate of Cédric Jubillar. “Checks were carried out and nothing came of it. The conclusions were handed over to the investigating judges in April,” a source close to the investigation told AFP. No better regarding the statements of a medium or the possible presence of an excavator not far from the Jubillar home at the time of the nurse’s disappearance.

Close as many leads as possible

“From the moment there is no body, it must be demonstrated that there is no other possible hypothesis. The open avenues are closed,” underlines a judicial source to AFP.

The magistrates will also look this Thursday, in the absence of Cédric Jubillar and during a closed hearing, on the appeal filed by the lawyers of the 37-year-old drywall painter against the indictment order (OMA) , written in November 2023 by the investigating judges and which refers him to the Tarn assizes to be tried for “murder of a spouse”. The magistrates became convinced that Cédric Jubillar killed his wife before disposing of her body.

A trial in the first half of 2025?

The Tarnese nurse vanished from the family home in Cagnac-les-Mines on the night of December 15 to 16, 2020, in the middle of the health curfew. No trace of her has been found since. It was her husband Cédric who raised the alarm the morning of her disappearance. Investigations showed that the 33-year-old nurse, mother of two children, had decided to divorce and start a new life with a man she met the previous summer and that Cédric Jubillar was aware of this affair. The husband, whose lawyers constantly emphasize that “the file is empty”, has never stopped proclaiming his innocence since his indictment and incarceration on June 18, 2021. His multiple requests for release have all been rejected . There is neither body nor confession in this affair.

The additional information delayed the possible trial of Cédric Jubillar by a few months. But the case resumes its normal course this Thursday and according to a judicial source, it could now be scheduled during the first half of 2025.
