ZDF confirms the end of “Wetten, dass…?” with Thomas Gottschalk. He also wants to moderate the last show in November alone.
Berlin. The last broadcast of the ZDF format “Bet that..?“With Thomas Gottschalk is to be broadcast on November 25th – but the moderator Michelle Hunziker will not be there. As the “Bunte” initially reported, Thomas Gottschalk wants to moderate the program alone in November. ZDF confirmed this at the request of our editors.
“As far as Michelle is concerned, I agree with ZDF: the beginning and the end shake hands. I managed the first show alone, I can do it with the last one too,” quotes Bunte Gottschalk.
Hunziker vs. Gottschalk: Moderator is said to have been surprised by the decision
Hunziker had co-moderated the show since 2002 and was also seen at the last new edition in November 2022. On the show, Gottschalk sometimes seemed agitated and poorly prepared. She is said to have been surprised by this, Bunte claims to have learned from ZDF circles.
The next edition of “Wetten, dass…?” on November 25, 2023 will be the 154th edition for show host Thomas Gottschalk. 36 years after his first appearance on “Wetten, dass..?” he once again takes the audience through the biggest show in Europe.
ZDF program director Nadine Bilke said: “We are really looking forward to Thomas Gottschalk’s last big ‘Wetten, dass…?’ show. I would like to thank Thomas Gottschalk on behalf of ZDF and the many colleagues involved in this great show – with passion and heart and soul he created countless unforgettable moments with many betting candidates as well as top-class guests.” As it is with the format goes on, ZDF wants to decide in due course after the broadcast.
