After a seven-year hiatus, “Wetten, dass ..?” with moderator Thomas Gottschalk back on television for an anniversary episode. At ZDF you will consider whether it will stay with a one-time show, because the ratings speak for themselves.

“Bet that ..?” remains a rating for the ZDF even years after the official end of the show. At the anniversary show on Saturday evening, according to the media magazine “DWDL”, 13.8 million viewers switched on the television for the show. Accordingly, “Wetten, dass ..?” a market share of an outstanding 45.7 percent. In the age group of 14 to 49 year olds, according to the “DWDL”, the rate was even over 50 percent. Gottschalk announced his departure from the show in 2011 after Samuel Koch’s accident. Talker Markus Lanz then took over the show, but was never able to build on the old successes. With the last episode in 2014, Lanz was only able to lure 9.3 million viewers inside in front of the television.

Even during the show, celebrities had campaigned for more episodes of “Wetten, dass ..?” will give. Frank Elstner, who invented the show and moderated it from 1981 to 1987, spoke out in favor of an annual broadcast of the family show in the future.
