The first trailer for the new “Westworld” season is here. In addition to the release date, he also gives a look at the well-known returnees.

In an atmospheric and usual trailer polished to a high gloss HBO has revealed the start date of Westworld season 4. The first of the new episodes will therefore appear on June 26, 2022 in the USA. It is not yet clear whether this will also be the case for Germany. Season three of the sci-fi series came to Germany in 2020 with a delay of around two weeks after the US release via Sky.

The fabulous cast returns

The trailer, which is over two minutes long, definitely makes you want to travel again to the not too distant future dystopia. And this despite the fact that not a single word is spoken during the entire clip. Instead, to the sounds of Lou Reed’s hit “Perfect Day”, he once again raises the question of whether humans and machines can coexist peacefully.

Most of the well-known stars of the series appear again in the new trailer. In addition to leading actress Evan Rachel Wood (34), Ed Harris (71), Jeffrey Wright (56), Thandiwe Newton (49), Aaron Paul (42) and Tessa Thompson (38) are also at the start, to name just a few .

Sci-fi horror of the 70’s spun on

“Westworld” by Christopher Nolan’s (51) brother Jonathan Nolan (45) and his wife Lisa Joy (44) premiered in 2016. This is a sequel to the 1973 film of the same name by Michael Crichton. In it, the robots at a western theme park go haywire after a malfunction and start chasing visitors.

The series adds a philosophical note to this horror aspect and poses the existential question of when artificial intelligence has a right to life. The first two seasons consisted of ten episodes and played mainly in the “Westworld” amusement park. Since season three, the indistinguishable robots have escaped to civilization. Like season three, the fourth will consist of eight episodes.
