Felix Agu has so far clearly lost the competition with Mitchell Weiser on the right. The 23-year-old has only played 46 minutes this season (spread over three games) – certainly not what Agu had expected. Therefore, so has 90 mins learned from the player’s environment, a change in winter is up for debate.
Whether this can actually be realized may also be related to the healing process of the youngster. As Werder Bremen announced on Tuesday, Agu will be out for several weeks: The full-back has to pause until the start of the new year due to problems with the patellar tendon.
“Felix has been bothered by the problems for a while, but he’s gritted his teeth in the last few weeks and put himself at the service of the team,” explained Checoach Ole Werner. “But now it’s time to give him the break so he can be back in the new year.”
