The EU in its current form has failed, the traffic light coalition is making politics against the majority of the population: Im ARDIn the summer interview, AfD parliamentary group leader Weidel expressed harsh criticism.
No other party is currently benefiting as much from the dissatisfaction with Chancellor Olaf Scholz and the traffic light coalition as the AfD. The party is at a high in polls nationwide. In many ways, success rests on the rigorous rejection of current policies.
The parliamentary group leader and federal spokeswoman for the AfD, Alice Weidel, also stuck to this line ARD-Summer interview faithful. For example, she was asked what her party’s position was on the Chancellor’s offer to the opposition to form a “Germany Pact” to break through blockades and reduce bureaucracy. Weidel replied that she could not imagine a “Germany pact” with this government.
“Election campaign makes use of escalation”
At a campaign event in Gillamoos, Bavaria, Weidel said last week: “We are ruled by madmen and idiots.” When asked whether the Chancellor was a “madman or an idiot” for her, Weidel wanted to ARD-Do not give a direct answer during the summer interview.
It was a campaign speech and “the election campaign uses exaggeration,” said the AfD politician. But ultimately she stands by the statement that “this government is acting idiotically.” It would therefore be important that “this chancellor”, who has lost the majority among the population, clears the way for new elections. The traffic light is making politics against “the majority of people who want to go back to nuclear power, who are against the ban on internal combustion engines.”
“They are destroying many people’s retirement savings”
Weidel said about the building energy law passed in the Bundestag: “If you rip out your heating in 2028 and then want to continue with some idiotic legislative proposals, you no longer have any planning security and you burden citizens with investment costs, which lead to one thing above all: the decline in the value of real estate “You’re destroying many people’s retirement savings and also those of tenants, because the rising costs are passed on to tenants. And I think that’s an idiotic policy.”
Weidel didn’t offer any solutions when it came to the shortage of skilled workers, but said it was a self-inflicted problem for Germany: “We’ve had a shortage of skilled workers for years.” By increasing citizens’ allowance, the traffic light created a “competitive offer for non-working people”. Many would now say that working is no longer worth it, “because the state now pays for everything, in addition to citizens’ money, health insurance, nursing care insurance, heating and rent costs.”
“People no longer want the EU”
On the subject of European policy, Weidel responded to the question of what she thought of her party colleague Björn Höcke’s statement that this EU must “die”: “The people in this country, and opinion polls confirm this, no longer want this EU. It “is a construct that is completely out of time” and “something is dictated from above”.
Instead of “this EU,” Weidel wants “a European economic community. I want to promote the EU and Europe in the fields where it makes sense. That is of course a common internal market, but also through a common security and defense policy and common border security .” The European Union has been failing for decades in all of these areas.
