The wintry weather continues, it is dangerously slippery in places and there is still snow and ice on many roads. These maps show how cold it is – and where it feels the frostiest.

The weather is uncomfortable – and sometimes dangerous. At many places In Germany, traffic accidents occurred towards the end of the week in freezing drizzle and black ice. On Friday there were still official warnings of “marked slippery conditions” due to freezing rain in several regions. The sun is disappearing more and more and there is a risk of slippery roads, wrote the portal “Wetter.de”.

According to the current weather reports, it was particularly slippery in parts of North Rhine-Westphalia, Hesse, Lower Saxony, Saxony and Brandenburg as well as in Berlin and in some places in Saxony-Anhalt, Thuringia and Bavaria.

There is frost in many parts of Germany, and in some places temperatures fluctuate around freezing point. At the same time, our latitudes are more influenced by low pressure: the air becomes more humid. The perceived temperatures – i.e. the perceived ambient temperatures – are sometimes below the measured air temperatures, as the overview in Map II below shows.
