Gone with the cold and lots of sun: winter will show a different side in the coming days. Attention: It can get slippery again in the nights.

This invites you to get a lot of vitamin D,” said Tanja Sauter from the weather forecast center of the German Weather Service (DWD) in Offenbach. “Otherwise the forecast area will be increasingly influenced by deep pressure over northeastern Europe.”

On Saturday there will be a lot of sun south of the Danube and in southern Baden and it will remain dry. It is cloudy in other parts of the country. North of a line between the Lower Rhine and the Ore Mountains it can rain or snow. The highest values are usually positive.

On Sunday it will remain mostly sunny and dry from southern Baden to Lower Bavaria. Further north it will be very cloudy, with light rain or sleet falling in some areas. Snowfall is expected in the mountains. The maximum temperatures are still in the plus range, but in the higher mountains there is still permanent frost.

Attention: It can still be slippery at night and you should be careful in some areas. On Monday night, the DWD expects rain, sleet or snow with a corresponding risk of slippery conditions. It cools down to plus two to minus four degrees, in the higher mountains and in the Alps to minus eight degrees.
