Weather report. Northern Alsace hit by major floods

101 interventions by firefighters were in progress throughout the department, mainly for the exhaustion of premises and the clearance of roads.

50 machines, including 1 drone, and 120 firefighters are currently mobilized.

The following roads are still blocked in both directions:
• the D95 between Gungwiller and Bettwiller
• the D919 between Lorentzen and Diemeringen
• the D740 between Weyer and Rauwiller and between Hirschland and Rauwiller
• the D919 between Voellerdingen and Oermingen and between Ingwiller and Wimmenau
• the D919 / D823 between Diemeringen and Waldhambach

New roads have been added to the previous list:
• the D122 Oberhoff
• the D740 between Ingwiller and Winnemau
• A35 between Rountzenheim and Roppenheim
• the D182 between Bettwiller and Drulingen
• the D217 between Gresswiller and Rosenwiller

Access to Diemeringen is completely closed. 70 students still in the town’s middle school are being evacuated. The daycare center was also evacuated. For specialized establishments welcoming the public:
• The IME was evacuated and all the children were able to return home.
• ESAT: medical-social supervision takes care of 6 workers stuck on site. They will be hosted within the association.
• The EHPAD, due to its geographical location, is not impacted.

In the municipality of Druliengen, access to the college is practicable.

At midday

The Bas-Rhin fire and rescue service recorded 52 firefighter interventions in progress throughout the department, “mainly for flooding of basements and cellars”. In all, 58 firefighters were at work with 23 engines.

In a press release, the prefecture announced the closure, in both directions, of the following roads:
• the D95 between Gungwiller and Bettwiller
• the D919 between Lorentzen and Diemeringen
• the D740 between Hirschland and Rauwiller
• the D919 between Voellerdingen and Oermingen
• the D919 / D823 between Diemeringen and Waldhambach

“The roads in the municipalities of Diemeringen and Lorentzen are flooded,” adds the prefecture. The area is absolutely to be avoided. Diversions are in place. Furthermore, traffic can be difficult on other roads, mainly in the north of the department. The Moder, Middle Saar/Eichel and Lauter can overflow in certain places. Their flood peaks are expected at the end of the day and next night. »
