The weather forecast for the weekend is impressive. According to experts, the finest grilling weather is announced – for almost all regions.
Kassel – First heat, then cold again, then heat again – no one can really keep up with these rapid changes in the weather. Thursday (April 11th) starts frosty in many parts of Germany. Minus temperatures are difficult for gardeners to bear in spring. Now warm air is rolling in from the Sahara again – including some Saharan dust. The German Weather Service (DWD) expects temperatures of up to 27 degrees in the southwest this weekend. Only on the North and Baltic Seas does it remain significantly cooler.
“Fat heat bubble” brings Germany up to 27 degrees on the weekend
“A big warm bubble will reach us next weekend,” predicts meteorologist Dominik Jung in the current one wetter.net-Video on YouTube. The heat bubble extends from Spain, Portugal, France and Germany, explains the weather expert using a graphic. The color red clearly dominates over large parts of Europe.
“At an altitude of 1,500 meters the temperatures are 10 to 12 degrees too high for the current season,” says Jung. This sometimes brings high temperatures on the ground, especially in the south of the country. With the warm air masses from the Sahara, a small strip of Saharan dust will reach us on Saturday and Sunday.

The north of Germany doesn’t get much of the summer weather at the weekend
High “Peter” with warmer and drier air masses lies primarily over the southern half of Germany. The north, on the other hand, is repeatedly touched by low foothills. According to the DWD expert, the maximum values here on Saturday will be 15 to 20 degrees in the far north. In the southwest, however, it is 25 to 28 degrees.
Summer intermezzo over on Sunday: cold front moving in from the north
On Sunday it will only be warm like summer in the south with maximum values between 23 and 28 degrees. In the north, the DWD is currently expecting “only 11 to 16 degrees”.
A cold front will bring snowflakes on Monday – but only in the high altitudes on the edge of the Alps. However, according to the DWD, it will be significantly cooler overall and windy at times. However, according to weather expert Dominik Jung, garden lovers can breathe a sigh of relief: Because of dense clouds, there is no risk of frost. (ml)
