Weather in Bavaria: Waiting for the winter dream worlds – Bavaria

Falling temperatures and an increasing probability of snowfall: The German Weather Service (DWD) expects snow above around 700 meters for Bavaria on Saturday night. Winter sports fans still have to be patient, said a DWD spokesman on Thursday. “Not much will come together.”

And it should be milder again next week. From Monday onwards it will probably rain at altitudes of up to around 1500 to 2000 meters. “It would perhaps be too early to have high hopes for winter sports,” said the DWD spokesman. The snowfall limit will settle at around 1,000 meters over the weekend – sometimes it could even be lower. The most snow is expected in the high altitudes of the Alps, “perhaps also towards the Allgäu Alps,” said the spokesman. And in the low mountain ranges there could be one to five centimeters of the white splendor. The snow will probably only stay at higher altitudes.

Otherwise, the weather service expects repeated showers with sometimes stormy gusts in the Free State over the next few days, with highs of between five degrees in the Bavarian Forest and eleven degrees in Main Franconia on Friday. On Saturday it is expected to be unsettled with highs between three and seven degrees. For Sunday, the DWD expected drier weather with sunshine but also denser cloud fields.
