Weather in Bavaria: Constant rain, squalls and slippery conditions – risk of flooding increases – Bavaria

After a short break in the rain, continuous rain is expected again in southern Bavaria until the weekend, which could lead to isolated floods. However, as the Bavarian State Office for the Environment announced, the flood situation in large parts of the Free State has eased for the time being.

In the upper Main area there are only isolated floods and the water levels of the Danube and Itz have declined. According to the information, the Free State faces a new risk of flooding as early as Friday. According to the German Weather Service (DWD), there will be heavy rain again in Swabia and in large parts of the foothills of the Alps from Thursday afternoon to Friday morning.

In addition, temporarily strong winds and squalls are expected in southern Bavaria on Friday night. On Friday there may still be rain during the day and snowfall in the Alps. The temperatures are expected to drop significantly by Saturday – to as low as minus three degrees. Smoothness is therefore possible in some areas.

According to the DWD, it will continue to be rainy and cloudy at the weekend. The temperatures will rise again to up to 12 degrees on Sunday.
