The beginning of April is not as spring-like and warm as the end of March. After a lot of snow yesterday in the north, it is now moving south. It’s getting quite wintry again.

After a cold and snowy start to April, the weather in Germany continued to show a more wintry side over the weekend. The German Weather Service (DWD) expects up to ten centimeters of fresh snow above 400 to 600 meters on Saturday.

“Tomorrow morning, when the shutters are pulled up, you should often see a thin layer of snow or at least some slush over the center and south,” said a DWD meteorologist on Friday in Offenbach.

According to the information, the snowfall only gradually subsided on Sunday. But according to the DWD, it won’t be as spring-like as it was at the end of March anytime soon. “Although it will be a little milder again, it will usually remain cool in the coming week,” said the meteorologist. It will also be stormy and very unstable.

According to the information, snow fell on the night of Friday, especially in central Germany and in the Allgäu. Ten centimeters were measured in Ostercappeln-Schwagstorf in Lower Saxony and in Göschitz in Thuringia, and 13 centimeters in Lügde-Paenbruch in North Rhine-Westphalia.
