Autumn is coming. But the sun and summery temperatures are doing their best again. Only at the weekend will there be a few clouds with heavy rain in places.

With sun and Temperatures of sometimes over 30 degrees will turn up again in late summer in the coming days. The weekend is still cloudy in places, but it’s getting warmer by the day, as the German Weather Service (DWD) predicted on Friday in Offenbach. This Saturday it is therefore cloudy, especially in the middle of Germany, and showers and thunderstorms must be expected. “South of the Main and Moselle and in the coastal area, the clear sky invites you to take a trip,” said DWD meteorologist Tanja Sauter.

After a very autumnal September 1 – the meteorological beginning of autumn – the maximum temperatures on Saturday are between 24 and 28 degrees, it is warmest in the south, according to the forecast it will remain at 20 to 22 degrees by the sea. According to the DWD, even 30 degrees are not excluded on the Upper Rhine.

On Sunday it will be sunny in most parts of the country with up to 29 degrees on the Upper Rhine. According to the forecast, clouds will move over the north and south-east at best. Individual showers are possible in a strip from Saxony to the eastern edge of the Alps.

It will be even more summery on Monday with maximum temperatures of 30 to 32 degrees in the southwest, as the DWD predicted. “A late-summer ending for all students who still have holidays and of course for everyone who will enjoy their well-deserved vacation in the next few days,” explained meteorologist Sauter. In Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg, the school holidays last another week.

To make statistics comparable, meteorologists summarize the seasons in whole months: June, July and August form the meteorological summer – and September, October, November the meteorological autumn. In contrast to this, the calendar or astronomical beginning of autumn this year is on September 23, when day and night are of equal length.
