Shining lights in snow and ice? If it weren’t January, it would look a bit Christmassy in some places in Bavaria. As here at Hopfensee in the Allgäu, street lighting is currently illuminating the surrounding area in a festive way. So it’s a shame that Christmas Eve was so long ago. And as we all know, it takes a while until the next one.
The shine from snow and ice is likely to last for the time being: the weather forecast predicts sub-zero temperatures for the coming days and especially nights. The roads can therefore become slippery and generally jagged. Anyone who can will turn up the heating at home – even at the risk of looking at the utility bill less celebratory. Fortunately, it’s still a while away before that happens.
